The Fox, The Rooster, and The Dog

There is a Dog and a Rooster. They are good friends. They live on a farm. One day, they want to see the world. So, they leave the farm. They walk on a road. The road goes to the woods.

It gets dark. The Rooster looks for a place to sleep. He sees a big tree. The Dog can sleep inside the tree. The Rooster can sleep on a branch. They sleep well all night.

In the morning, the Rooster wakes up. He crows loudly. A Fox hears the Rooster. The Fox wants to eat the Rooster. He goes to the tree. He says, "Hello, Rooster! I am happy to see you. Let's be friends."

The Rooster knows the Fox wants to eat him. He says, "Go to the door at the bottom of the tree. My friend will let you in."

The Fox goes to the door. The Dog jumps out. The Fox runs away. The Dog and the Rooster are safe.

In a peaceful farm, there lived a Dog and a Cock who were the best of friends. Though they enjoyed their life on the farm, they were curious about the world beyond. One day, they decided to embark on an adventure. They left the farm and traveled down a road that led them into a dense forest.

As night approached, the Cock searched for a suitable place to rest. He spotted a hollow tree nearby, which seemed like the perfect spot. The Dog could comfortably fit inside the hollow, while the Cock could perch on a branch above. They settled there and slept peacefully through the night.

At dawn, the Cock awoke. For a moment, he forgot he was not on the farm. He stretched his wings and crowed loudly. This time, his crowing did not wake the farmer; instead, it woke a cunning Fox who lived in the forest.

The Fox, who fancied the Cock for breakfast, hurried to the tree where the Cock was perched. He greeted the Cock with a friendly tone, "Good morning, dear sir! I am delighted to find you here. I believe we could become wonderful friends."

Realizing the Fox's true intentions, the Cock responded cleverly, "Thank you for your kind words, sir. Please go to the door at the base of the tree, and my servant will let you in."

The unsuspecting Fox, eager for his meal, went around to the door of the tree. As he waited, the Dog leaped out and chased the Fox away, protecting his friend, the Cock.

Once upon a time, there was a Dog who fancied himself quite the philosopher and a Cock with a flair for the theatrical. They were best friends and lived on a farm that, according to them, was "so last season."

They wanted to explore more of the world, see things like mountains, oceans, and whatever else was not on the farm. So, they packed up their wit, wisdom, and a few snacks and set off on an adventure, jauntily strutting down the road to the woods.

"I tell you, Cock," said the Dog, "the world is like a big, juicy bone, waiting to be gnawed on!"

"And I'll sing its praises," replied the Cock, fluttering his feathers dramatically. "Or at least wake everyone up while doing so!"

When night fell, they stumbled upon a hollow tree. The Cock, being the diva that he was, saw the perfect stage. "Behold, the grand Tree Theater! You may take the lower booth, dear Dog, while I grace the upper branch."

The Dog settled in, muttering something about "always getting the cheap seats." They both slept like babies or, well, like a dog and a cock.

At sunrise, the Cock forgot he was on tour and not on the farm. He sprang up and let out a crow so grand, it could have won a Grammy. Instead of waking the farmer, though, he woke a Fox in the woods.

The Cock, puffing up his chest, replied, "Your kind words are as sweet as corn, sir. If you'd be so good as to knock at the door at the bottom of the tree, my servant—erm, I mean, my associate—will let you in."

The Fox, as sly but not as clever as he looked, followed the instructions. But when he knocked, SURPRISE! The Dog leaped out like a jack-in-the-box, catching the Fox and saving the day.

"Wrong door, Mr. Fox!" the Dog said, wagging his tail. "Maybe next time, call ahead?"

The Fox, looking sheepish, slinked away, while the Cock bowed to an imaginary audience.

"And that," said the Dog, "is why you always read the reviews before choosing your dining experience."

They laughed, strutted off down the road, and continued their adventure, knowing that wherever they went, they had each other—and an endless supply of wit to keep them entertained.

Beyond the rolling hills and golden hay,

Morning light danced, the world gleamed anew,
The Cock rose and thought, “There’s something I must do!”
Spreading his wings, he crowed, breaking the blue,
Yet, it wasn’t the farmer he alerted, but a creature in hue.

A Fox, sly and sleek, with breakfast in mind,
Approached the Cock, with words so kind,
“Welcome, dear sir, in our woods you I find,
Let’s be great friends, fate has us entwined.”

The Cock, quick-witted, with a twinkle in his eye,
Directed the Fox, with a crafty reply,
“Dear sir, approach the tree’s base, oh so nigh,
My servant will greet you, just give it a try.”

As the Fox neared the tree, anticipating a feast,
Out sprang the Dog, surprising the beast.
“Not so fast!” the Dog growled, guarding his mate,
Together, they proved, friendship's power is great.
