The Flies and The Honey Pot
Aesop | Greece
Greedy flies indulge in irresistible honey, unaware of getting stuck as their wings and feet become coated, leaving them trapped.

Once upon a time, a group of flies found a pot of honey in a village shop. The sweet smell was so inviting that they couldn’t resist. They went closer and tasted the honey. It was so delicious that they started eating more and more.
As they ate, they didn’t notice that their feet and wings were getting covered in honey. They were so busy enjoying the taste that they didn’t realize they were getting stuck. The honey was very sticky, and it held their feet and wings firmly.
Soon, they couldn’t move. Their wings were too heavy to fly. The more they tried to escape, the more they got stuck. They were trapped.
The flies were scared. They wished they had not been so greedy. But it was too late, and they were now trapped in the pot, unable to fly away.
