The Brave Little Parrot
Traditional | India
A small parrot bravely fights a forest fire with droplets of water, inspiring other animals to join in, proving that everyone can make a difference.

Once upon a time, in the middle of a big forest, lived a small, friendly parrot. The parrot loved its home and spent each day singing and playing with its animal friends. One day, a strong storm came, and lightning struck a tree, causing a fire.
The fire spread quickly, and soon, it was dangerous for all the animals. Scared, the animals ran, flew, or jumped to get away from the fire as fast as they could.
The little parrot watched the chaos and thought, "I must do something to save our forest." Even though the parrot was small, it was very brave. It decided to try and stop the fire.
The parrot flew to the nearest river, dipped its feathers in the water, and then flew back over the fire. It shook its wet feathers, and a few drops of water fell onto the flames. The parrot kept doing this again and again, each time dropping only a few drops of water on the fire.
An old owl, who was watching from a tree, flew over to the parrot and asked, "Why are you doing this, little parrot? You are so small, and the fire is so big. Your drops of water won’t stop the fire."
The parrot, feeling tired but determined, answered, "I am doing what I can. This is my home, and these are my friends. Even if I am small, if everyone helps, we can make a big difference."
The wise owl was impressed by the parrot’s courage. It spread the message to the other birds. Inspired by the parrot, all the birds flew to the river, dipped their wings in the water, and shook their wet feathers over the fire. Soon, all the little drops became many, and together they put out the fire.
All the animals cheered and thanked the parrot for its bravery. From that day on, the parrot was known as the "Brave Little Parrot." The animals learned that no matter how small they were, they could still make a difference if they worked together.
