The Penny Wise Monkey
A wise King's desire for adventure led him to witness a greedy monkey's loss, teaching him to appreciate what he already had in his kingdom.
Once upon a time, there was a wise and kind King who liked to explore. He wanted to visit new places and meet different people, so he decided to go on a journey with his army.
While they were traveling, they found a beautiful forest and decided to take a rest. While exploring, they saw a clever monkey. The monkey was holding many green peas and looked very happy and greedy.
As the monkey held the peas, some fell to the ground and rolled away. One pea looked the best of all, and the monkey wanted it very badly. So, he dropped all the other peas and chased after the special one.
The monkey searched everywhere for that one pea but couldn’t find it in the big forest.
When he returned, all the other peas were gone. The monkey realized his greed had caused him to lose everything.
The King saw what happened and started thinking. He understood that, like the monkey, his own desire for new things made him forget the good things he already had in his kingdom.
The King learned a valuable lesson. He decided to appreciate what he had instead of always wanting more. From that day, the King ruled his kingdom with love and gratitude.
