A Wolf, Kid, and Goat
Aesop | Greece
A Mother Goat warns her Kid to only open the door for someone with a beard, saving him from a cunning Wolf's trickery.

Once upon a time, a Mother Goat and her young Kid lived on a small hill. One morning, the Mother Goat needed to go to the field, so she told her Kid to stay home alone.
Before she left, she said to her Kid, "Be careful and don't open the door for anyone. Only open it if you see a beard because that will be me." The Kid understood and nodded.
After she left, the Kid was alone. A sneaky Wolf heard what the Mother Goat said and made a plan. He knocked on the door and said, "Little Kid, open the door. Your mother sent me to check on you."
The Kid, being smart and obedient, looked through a small hole in the door and said, "I don't see a beard. My mother told me not to open the door to anyone without a beard."
The Wolf was surprised and his plan failed. The Kid stayed safe because he followed his mother's wise advice. When the Mother Goat came back, she was very happy to see her Kid safe. Her good advice had protected him.
